This year, the same as last, the Scioto Valley Chapter of the Ninety Nines held their Anniversary Banquet in the second-floor party room of the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant at Port Columbus, but we gathered on Thursday night instead of the regular Wednesday meeting night, because that's when the Aero Squadron sponsors the Big Band music. We all spent a couple of hours downstairs enjoying the music and dancing after the banquet.
As in past years at this restaurant, we had a wide variety of entree choices, including two sizes of Prime Rib, a New York Strip steak, Farmhouse Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Marsala, or Chicken Dijonaise, Filet Mignon and Shrimp Scampi, Fresh Salmon, Crab and Stuffed Flounder, Lobster and Shrimp Linguine, Shrimp and Scallop Penne, Vegetable Stir-Fry, or Penne Pomodoro. As always, all the food was delicious, well-prepared, and nicely served.
As a clever added touch, Jim and Jo-Ann Prater brought place cards showing each person's name and the entree previously ordered, which smoothed things well for the servers. It eliminated that awkward series of questions about "Who ordered ...", and the embarrassing silence when we forgot what we'd signed up for. :-[

It's easy to see that Amy and Pete Yersavich were enjoying this party!
