Scioto Valley 27th Anniversary

This year, the same as last, the Scioto Valley Chapter of the Ninety Nines held their Anniversary Banquet in the second-floor party room of the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, overlooking runway 28L at Port Columbus, but we gathered on Thursday night instead of the regular Wednesday meeting night, because that's when the Aero Squadron sponsors the Big Band music.

As in past years at this restaurant, we had a wide variety of entree choices, all at reasonable prices.  As always, all the food was delicious, well-prepared, and nicely served.

Jim and Jo-Ann Prater brought place cards showing each person's name and the entree previously ordered, which smoothed things well for the servers.  It eliminated that awkward series of questions about "Who ordered ...", and the embarrassing silence when we forgot what we'd signed up for.  :-[

Anniversary CakeMarch 13, 2008

The decoration on the Anniversary Cake commemorated the chapter's visit to New Mexico last October.  "Cold Beer" is the local name around Cimarron for the very-popular Colfax Tavern.

How unlucky must a photographer be, to catch Jo-Ann Prater and Paula Rumbaugh both with their eyes closed?
