Scioto Valley 99 Christmas Party

Candy and Jerry Eichenberger graciously hosted the Scioto Valley Chapter's 2003 Christmas Party at their home in Powell, Ohio.  Marilynn Miller snapped a few pictures at the party and offered these to share on the web site.

"Frosty the Snowman"

December 10, 2003

Candy and Jerry had a special treat in store for us, having invited The Apple Core Four barbershop quartet group to treat us with some outstanding Seasonal Melodies in perfect harmony.  Here, they were doing a very special rendition of "Frosty the Snowman".

Kitchen revelry

December 10, 2003

Some rowdy person must have jostled Marilynn just as she snapped this blurry picture, so we can guess everyone was enjoying the party, which you can tell by the animated faces on Amy Yersavich, Kama Denney, and Marjorie Anderson seated around the kitchen table.  Marilynn didn't get the opportunity to repeat this snapshot, so we had to use it "as-is".

In lieu of a Christmas gift exchange this year, members donated gift dollars to the International Health Services, which is the organization Jo-Ann and Jim Prater will be working with in Honduras during the coming February.  This donated money will go toward fuel for the small planes which are used for ferrying patients back and forth to the IHS clinic.  Thanks to all who gave for this wonderful cause.

Later, most of the Ninety Nines gathered in Candy's basement to attend to the filling and decorating of coffee cans with home-made cookies, for distribution to Air Traffic Control facilities and Fixed Base Operators in the local area (including as far away as the Greene County Airport).  They filled at least fifteen tins of cookies, according to one count.  Enthusiastic feedback from the recipients is one of the highlights enjoyed by the members who deliver the tins to their destinations.
