Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Joanne Austin for Marjorie Anderson.

Attendance: Paula Rumbaugh, Marilynn Miller, Constance Copeland, Myra Jamison, Janie McIntire, Paula Hook, Charma Huddy, Joann Austin, Mary Biller.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: The minutes of the March meeting were approved as published in the monthly meeting notice.

Treasurer’s Report:  Charma Huddy will be finishing up the term as treasurer for Kay Hoelting who is leaving. The report stands approved as read.

Report of Airmarking Committee:  No report.

Report of Standing Committees:

A.  Fall 2006 Section Meeting:

• Paula Hook visited the Clarion Hotel at I-270 and 161 in Dublin and talked to them about the possibility of us holding our section meeting there.
• The hotel is in the process of being refurbished to include an outdoor patio, meeting rooms, ballrooms, restaurants and a lounge.
• They have a hospitality room and would allow us to provide our own food and liquor.
• They also cater banquets.
• We would not be charged for use of the hotel as long as we stay there.
• The rooms are $89/night.
• The hotel offers guest pick-up and delivery within 5 miles which includes Ohio State University airport.
• Everyone liked the idea of the Clarion and agreed that Paula should reserve it for our section meeting.
• Paula will put together a list of the committees she needs.

B.  Right Seat Companion/Project Aware (Paula Rumbaugh, Chair):

• Paula Rumbaugh sent out two registration packets but Janie McIntire has not received them back yet.
• The deadline for registration is May 6th. Myra Jamison will wait until that date to apply for the required 99s insurance for the event.
• We have four instructors lined up.
• Posters still need to be delivered to Bolton and Lancaster airports. Marilynn Miller offered to deliver them.
• Marilynn Miller and Mary Biller volunteered to line up the food for the event.
   

Announcements:

1. Marilynn Miller asked if anyone would be interested in a day trip to Akron to attend the Aero Expo on June 17, 2005. The trip is being offered through the Hilliard Senior Center. The Aero Expo actually takes place on June 18 & 19 but the 17th is the press preview day. The cost for the event is $64 which includes the bus ride and lunch. Please call Marilynn if interested.

2. Dana Rogers requested our attendance at Bolton Field this Saturday, April 16, to welcome the Gilbert A. Cargill Chapter from Detroit. Up to eight airplanes are expected to fly in around noon.
    

Unfinished Business: 

1. Schmidt’s Fundraiser: It was decided that we will sign up to work for Schmidt’s at the Quarter Horse Congress which will take place October 3 – 23, 2005.

2. Summer Picnic: Paula Rumbaugh reported that Candy Eichenberger volunteered to have the summer picnic at her house this year. Candy suggested that we have Schmidt’s cater it. The cost would be $11/person and would include the classic Schmidt’s menu including cream puffs! Everyone agreed that this is a good idea.
