Approved Minutes from August  8, 2001

The August 8 meeting was called to order by Marilynn Miller. The July meeting minutes was accepted as written.

Treasurer's report: Balance on hand: $4502.57

Received in dues: $72
AEP stock dividend: $360
Total: $4934.37 Plus our C.D.

Marilynn reported she had received a note from Mary Ellen Keil's companion. Mary Ellen is in a nursing home. She has not been able to attend meetings for a few years.

Deborah Sutor, Marilynn Miller and Janie McIntire met, worked out a design for the denim shirts and displayed their results for the group to vote on. We saw the results of the compass rose in gold and navy blue, silver and navy blue and white and navy blue. A motion was made to use the gold and navy blue. Various sizes of the shirts were presented and after a "try on" by the members present, a motion was made to purchase 5 small, 15 medium, 20 large and 10 extra large for a total of 50 shirts. The Set up fee for the embroidery is $130, which is a one-time fee.
We plan to sell these at the Fall sectional .

A reminder that the Fall sectional meeting in Fort Wayne is coming up and Aug. 28th is the deadline for the Sept. 21-22 meeting.

Jo-Ann Prater displayed our fabric-decorated plates. These were sold for $10 to members present. I think she still has a few left for those who did not get to this meeting. Our meeting was adjourned.

Though the day was hot and muggy, the hospitality was great and Janie and Woody and our annual picnic inside their home. The children seemed to have a good time. What is it in the far corner of Janie's lot that attracts them?

As secretary I goofed and didn't pass an attendance or Up, Up, and Away sheet around. I heard later that Jean Whitney-Griffith is well on her way to renew her pilots license-way to go Jean.
