Up, Up, and Away

Janet Barnard flew to and landed at Oshkosh for the first time - it was a great experience!

Jann Bowne flew to Lexington, KY to visit her daughter. Their plan was to continue on to visit relatives in Maine but the weather didn’t cooperate.

Jann and George Bowne flew to Billings, MT to visit relatives before joining a mountain flying tour. After the tour they visited friends in Colorado before heading home. 33 hours of flying in 2 weeks - Whew!

Marjorie Anderson flew commercial to L.A., Beijing, Hefei, and Tunxi China. She was able to study traditional Chinese medicine, Qi-gong, Taije. She toured Yellow Mountain, bamboo forests, and climbed the Great Wall.

Constance and Ray Copeland flew to England (com) with their son-in-law and granddaughter. It was hot.

Amy Yersavich and Paula Rumbaugh flew to Niagara-on-the-Lake the weekend of August 4-6 for the Shaw Festival. They saw two excellent plays, “Arms and the Man” and “The Crucible,” and enjoyed shopping and good eats too!

Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Myra Jamison.

Attendance: Jann Bowne, Paula Rumbaugh, Constance Copeland, Janie McIntire, Marilynn Miller, Paula Hook, Lori Robishaw, Myra Jamison, Joann Austin, Janet Barnard, Amy Yersavich, Jo-Ann Prater, Dawn Velasco, Elaine Spayde, Marjorie Anderson, Mary Biller.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: Marilynn Miller moved to approve the minutes as published in the newsletter. Connie Copeland seconded the motion. The minutes stand as published.

Treasurer’s Report:  We have collected 85 Ohio quarters for the gift bags. The state sales tax report was filed.

Report of Standing Committees:

Fall 2006 Section Meeting:  Paula Hook developed a schematic of our conference and will distribute an updated version at the next meeting.

Announcements:
Buckeye making day
- Sunday September 10th at Jann’s house. Joanne Austin will provide recipe. We are planning to have two shifts, 10-2 and 2-6. Please let Jann know if you are planning to help and which shift you can help with.

Angel Fire Compass Rose - A compass rose was painted by some local 99s. We will still plan to go to the Casa - we just won’t do any work!
