Minutes of the February 13, 2002 meeting
The meeting was called to order by
Marilynn Miller.
Guests were Cindy Obara, Tracy Hahn, Karen Holly, and Janet Barnard.
Our upcoming Project Aware on Feb. 21st
was discussed. Members were briefed and plans were refined.
Next on the agenda was our Right-Seat
Companion course to be given May 17-19 at Delaware airport. This course and the
previous mentioned Project Aware are our group’s effort to promote aviation.
Along this line—classes are being
organized to give members a ground school instructor rating to use at the Right
–Seat Companion course. Currently we have about 2 members who are qualified
and we need more. Marilynn passed around a book ($19.95) which Charlene
Falkenberg had recommended. It was proposed to have Charlene teach such a course
perhaps on a weekend. Hocking Hills weekend retreat was discussed. Marilynn will
talk to Charlene and report back.
If you ever wanted to be a judge at an
aviation event, Donna Moore (governor of our section) needs you to help with a
NIFA meet at O.S.U. on May 14-18. The latter part of the meet does conflict with
our Right-Seat Companion course but we could help with the earlier part. A
training program will be given. Marilynn said that judging is a great
experience.
On the lighter side, Wendy Yost is in
charge of our anniversary dinner.
Chapter dues are to be collected in
March.
Our trip to Raton, New Mexico to paint a compass rose was published in the 99 International news. Thanks Marilynn for submitting the article.
Jo-Ann Prater made a motion to adjourn.
Charma Huddy got our brain cells to working with a quiz on women in aviation.
