Up, Up, and Away
Kama Denney: Flew in California, Ferry airplane to Sacramento, CA
Joanne Austin: Glenn and I flew to Rome, Georgia on Dec 27 in his Mooney. We heard Carol Ann Garrett talk about flying her Mooney around the world solo from Feb until Oct. 2003. Fantastic trip. Yes, she is a 99 from Ocala, Florida.
Janet Barnard: I have done some local flying in the Archer and got my night currency. I will be starting instrument rating ground school in February.
Connie Copeland: We got our plane back with the new avionics and after some trial flights, we flew to Wichita for a long weekend.

The meeting was called to order by Paula Rumbaugh, Vice-Chairman.

The minutes were moved to be accepted as distributed by Marilynn Miller, seconded by Joanne Austin, and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report:
The treasurer’s report was tabled at this time.
Old Business:
The chapter has received several “Thank you” notes for the homemade cookies which were given to the Towers and Flight Service Stations
Alice Jackson Scholarship: Myra is chairing the committee with Charma Huddy and Paula Rumbaugh to make recommendations from the applicants. Four applications have been received so far.
Ground School Instructors: 2004 Instructor’s Manuals are here. Cost is $13.97 each from Amazon.com. The Advanced Ground Instructor test costs $90.00 and the Fundamentals of Instructing test costs $90.00 as well, totaling $180.00. The tests may be taken in either order. Testing occurs at OSU Flight School, phone 614-292-5614 to schedule an appointment to take the test. You may register at www.catstesting.com or call 1-800-947-4228. The above website includes all of the testing information.
New Business:
Planning for 2004…Right Seat Companion course planned for early October (Marilynn to check with Bolton Airport to explore the current facility, rooms, etc for its appropriateness; Project Aware for July (Marilynn and Janie to explore potential dates with FSDO), Compass Rose possible sites include: Coshocton, Madison Co, Waco Field in Troy, OH, Fayette Co. (JoAnn Prater to explore possible sites. We could possibly paint two of these this year in May and September.
Forest of Friendship in Atchison, Kansas…June 18 – 20, 2004. Very impressive event…Flags of every nation are carried by scouts…Friendship memory walk with stones engraved by friends. Would be a great fly-in event.
Air Race Classic…anyone interested???
Ohio Aerobatic Competition: June 26 & 27, 2004 (Practice days, June 24 & 25) at Bolton Field.
