Up, Up, and Away
Jann and George Bowne flew to Alton Regional Airport in Alton, IL to spend Christmas with their son and his wife.
Paula Rumbaugh and Hal flew commercial to Buenos Aires in December 2005. From there they took a cruise ship to Montevideo (Uruguay), Puerto Madryn (Argentina), Falkland Islands, Cape Horn, Ushuaia (the southern most city in the world!), Punta Arenas (Chili), Puerto Chacabuco, Puerto Montt, and, finally, Valparaiso. They returned to the U.S. by air from Santiago.

The meeting was called to order by Marjorie Anderson.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: The minutes of the December meeting were approved as distributed in the newsletter.
Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer's Report stands approved as read.
Report of Standing Committees:
A. Airmarking Committee:
We are planning to paint a compass rose at the airport in Angel Fire, NM in September, 2007. The WAI International Conference is being held in Boulder, CO around the same time.
B. Fall 2006 Section Meeting:
We worked on the registration form, deciding what to charge for meals and events.
We have indicated Bolton Field as the airport for guests to fly in to.
Myra Jamison moved to have the Friday night entertainment at JP’s with Arnett Howard as the entertainment. Charma Huddy seconded and all were in favor. The motion was accepted.
Saturday events:
Breakfast with round tables.
Business meeting in the morning.
Lunch – Service awards will be presented at this time.
Afternoon presentation by the FAA.
Banquet in the evening with speaker from the Mars Institute.
49-½ activity for Saturday afternoon?
Paula Hook made a motion to charge $99 for full
registration, Myra Jamison
seconded and all were in favor. Motion passed. Late registration will be $109.
Paula Rumbaugh will finish filling out the registration form and send it to Janie McIntire.
Goodie Bags:
Only useful items.
Connie suggested we look into a company called the Oriental Trading Company for small plastic bags. Their website is www.orientaltrading.com.
Remember to save Ohio quarters.
Marilynn will get pads of paper and pencils for the goodie bags.
Announcements:
Glenn Sproat injured the knee he recently had replaced. Charma will send a card.
There is still time to donate to HIS. Please write checks to the Scioto Valley 99s and give to Charma Huddy.
Paula Rumbaugh made a motion to nominate Marilynn Miller for the Governor’s Service Award to be given at the Spring Section Meeting. Charma Huddy seconded and all were in favor.
We still need a nominating committee. Elections are in April and the new term starts in June.
