Gail Dean started flying lessons – way to go Gail!!!!

Jann Bowne flew on her own (husband George had to work) to St. Louis Downtown Airport to hold her granddaughter Nicole a few hours after her birth.

Nancy Allard and her husband flew to first Nascar race in Michigan, flew to Toledo for a hotdog! Flew to Put-in-Bay and to KY to see mother-in-law.

Joanne Austin-Sproat is working on her Bi-annual in Glenn’s (49 !/2) Mooney. He is a tough CFII and gives me no slack!

Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Myra Jameson.

Attendance: Marilynn Miller, Gail Dean, Jo-Ann Prater, Lori Robishaw, Marjorie Anderson, Paula Hook, Janie McIntire, Teresa Freeman, Nancy Allard, Constance Copeland, Jann Bowne, Dawn Valasco, Rose Daniels, Charma Huddy, Joanne Austin-Sproat, Janice Morabets, Myra Jameson, Amy Yersavich, Mary Biller.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: The meeting minutes were approved as published in the newsletter with the following exception: Janet Barnard and Joanne Austin were in attendance at the June 13th meeting.

Treasurer’s Report:  Report read by Charma Huddy.
   • Dues need to be paid by July 15, 2007.
   • The scholarship program will be started up again now that the Section Meeting is over.
   • Lori suggested that we donate money to the 99s museum.
   • Janie turned in the 5013C report. We did not make any money last year.
   • Sales tax is due next week but we have not sold anything since the last section meeting.

Report of Standing Committees: 

• Airmarking:
  •  The compass rose painting at Marysville Airport is tentatively scheduled for October 27-28, 2007.
• Membership
  •  Janice Morabets attended a meeting a few years back and this time she is here to stay! Marjorie thanked Janice for her participation in the Young Eagles program.
• Newsletter:
  •  Amy has offered to share the responsibility of the newsletter with Paula Rumbaugh.
• Section Meeting:
  •  Paula Hook attended the North Central Section meeting in Nebraska The following are highlights from the meeting:
     - Marcelaine Lewis resigned
     - National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) – we should become involved
     - Attendance awards for section meetings have been discontinued.
     - International Meetings:
        2007 - September 12-15 in Boulder
        2008 – Anchorage
        2009 – Chicago
        2010 - Hawaii
     - The North Central Section Meetings:
        Fall 2007 – September 21-23 in Duluth, MN
        Spring 2008 - April 25-27 in Iowa

Old Business:  
•   Jo-Ann Prater would like to know by September 12th who will be attending the Casa. She has reserved the house for us October 13 and 14. The Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta lasts for two weeks and ends on October 14.
• Gathering of Mustangs & Legends Event - September 27 – 30, 2007
  - Janie passed around a sign-up sheet for people who would like to volunteer.
  - Volunteers will work either 6 hour shifts for 12 hours shifts.
  - Criminal record check required.
  - Training will be provided via a Power Point presentation online. Each volunteer must view the presentation and answer some questions.
• Joanne Austin asked if we could send a thank-you note to Dan Young, the owner of the restaurant we ate at in Springfield last month. Mary will send the card.

New Business:
•   Need to revise Chapter directory but not everyone has paid their chapter dues. Charma may need to email reminders to those who have not paid.
