Minutes of the Scioto Valley 99s June 9, 2004 meeting
Up, Up, and Away
Janie and Woody flew some friends to Coldwater, MI, for a pancake breakfast.
Mary and Terri went to Red Stewart Field, in Waynesville, OH, and flew in a
Decathlon.
Janet flew a 172 to Urbana on Friday, and then flew a Piper Colt on Tuesday,
to the same place.
John and Charma Huddy are flying commercially to Shannon, Ireland, on June 17
for a tour of Ireland and Scotland. They fly home from Glasgow, on June 28.
Marilynn made a quick round trip, commercial flight to Fresno, CA, for her
grandson Ben’s high-school graduation.

guest Tracy Hahn, Terri Vrbancic, Janet Barnard, Dana Rogers.

Joanne invited anyone to bring readings to future meetings.
- Reading and Approval of Minutes of the Previous Meeting: Mary Biller
• Correction to meeting minutes stand.
• Approved as printed.
- Treasurer’s report: In Kay Hoelting’s absence, Janie McIntire continues to
act as Treasurer. She gave the report, which was approved.
- Report of Airmarking Committee (Jo-Ann Prater is chair)
• The compass rose at Delaware County
Airport was repainted Saturday, June 4, 2004.
• Jo-Ann would like us to paint another in
the fall. Madison County and Marysville have been proposed.
- Report of other standing committee
a. Report of Fall 2006 Sectional Meeting Committee (Paula Hook is chair)
• The Committee is meeting
after each monthly meeting.
• Currently looking at the
northwest corner of I-270
• May incorporate trip to the
zoo
• Will avoid OSU football
weekends when deciding on a date
b. Safety Seminar/Project Aware (Marilynn Miller is chair)
• Safety Seminar is scheduled
for August 12, 2004
• Jim Stokes put a flier
together but Marilynn has not seen it yet. Format is same as last year’s
• Jim Stokes will be the only
speaker on the program
c. Membership Committee: Please send dues to Janie if you haven’t already
paid.
d. Scrapbook Committee (Myra Jamison is chair)

- Announcements
a. Fall Sectional Meeting reminder : Indiana Dunes Section, Oct. 15-17, 2004,
South Bend, IN; Ramada Inn: $70 + tax; Conference fees: $75 full registration
b. The Aerobatic Contest to be held at Bolton was cancelled. An impromptu
contest may take place at Bolton June 26 or at Marysville Airport in
September.
c. June 18-20, International Forest of Friendship
d. July 6-11, International Conference

• Connie reported that Jo-Ann Prater has
offered to take us on a backstage tour of the Lion King production. It must be
on a Saturday between 5 and 6 p.m.
• Terri invited everyone to join her and
Tracy at the 94th Aerosquadron Thursday night at 8:00 for swing dancing.
• Marilynn informed the group that she has
updated the officers. She needs a magazine reporter and an AE Scholarship
chairman (Janie agreed to be the chairman.)
• Connie has asked Arnett Howard, a pilot
and entertainer, to perform at the fall convention.
