Minutes of the Scioto Valley 99s June 11, 2008 meeting
Up, Up, and Away
Paula Rumbaugh attended a conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in June. She and
two friends rented a car and drove around Croatia, Bosnia, and Montenegro prior
to the conference. Flight was commercial.
Janie and Woody have been able to do some flying now since they have been back
from Florida and had the annual completed.
Myra spent ten days in Ireland. She visited the Cliffs of Mohir, the Waterford
Crystal plant (where she bought a beautiful piece of crystal for under 10
euros). She had a chance to attend an old fashioned Kaelic and had a typical
Irish stew. The worst part of the trip was the flight from JFK to Columbus. The
weather while there was beautiful – no rain – all sunshine.
Mary and her instructor/banner-tow pilot Craig made a presentation to EAA
Chapter 9 last Saturday. The group came out to Bolton to learn all about banner
towing then dined at JPs.
Marjorie and Jack (49 ˝) enjoyed learning about banner towing at the last EAA
meeting at Bolton.
Jann and George also attended the EAA meeting on banner towing.
Constance and Ray Copeland flew to Wichita, KS for Ray’s annual lessons and the
River Fest. We were back for less than a week and then off to Walker, MN for a
family get-together with our sons and families.
