Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Myra Jamison.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: Approved as read.

Treasurer’s Report:  Charma Huddy gave the treasurer’s report.  Please pay your dues of $12.00 for the year. Charma sold more tickets for the Amelia Earhart picture she donated before drawing the winning ticket. Lori Robishaw was the lucky winner.

Announcements:
Jann Bowne made the following announcements:
• Amelia Earhart Navy Ship Commissioning: Deadline for reservation to attend the April event is March 17th.
• Please see Jann for the form required to deduct the expenses of attending section meetings.

La Casa – We have proposed July 11-13 as the weekend to go to the Casa. We would have to pay our own way this year. It costs $600-700 to rent the house for a week so each person’s share will depend on how many people go. The house can accommodate 16-20 people.

Jo-Ann Prater suggested that we combine a meeting with a trip to Urbana to visit Rothschild Farms and a B-17 restoration project at Grimes Field. We are considering having this meeting and outing one weekend this summer.

Report of Standing Committees: 

• Scholarship:
  Theresa Freeman was awarded the Alice Jackson Memorial Scholarship to help her attain her Commercial Pilot Certificate.
• Merchandise:
  The committee has looked into the pricing of aprons and coffee mugs. We decided to allow the committee to choose the items to order. A decision needs to be made quickly so that the merchandise is ready to be sold at the April section meeting.
