Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by Jann Bowne.

Attendance: Myra Jamison, Dawn Valasco, Jann Bowne, Paula Hook, Janie McIntire, Paula Rumbaugh, Meredith Frederick, and Jo-Ann Prater.

Minutes of Previous Meeting: The minutes for April were reviewed and approved as distributed.

Treasurer’s Report:   The treasurer’s report was presented by Paula Hook.

Report of Standing Committees: 

• Right Seat Companion:
  •  The chapter offered this course five years ago at Bolton Field. The cost at that time was $99. Proposed cost this time around to be announced.
  •  Course would consist of four hours of ground school and four hours in flight. Dates - evening of Friday, October 2, all day on Saturday, October 3, and morning of October 4.
  •  Registration deadline in September.
  •  There is a possibility that a flight simulator could be made available for use. Meredith Frederick will research that for the 99s.

Old Business:

• Compass rose painting: Still no contact from Bolton Field. Lebanon airport is a possibility, arranged with help from Marilynn Miller.
• July meeting: There was discussion about a Wednesday, July 8 meeting at the Golden Lamb Restaurant in Lebanon to include Marilynn Miller. Her current residence is just a few miles from there. No conclusion about the meeting was reached.

New Business:

• The chapter has been notified that Med Flight will be moving and that no one will be on site to open the door for our monthly meetings after October. New meeting sites were discussed. Suggestions included the Worthington Library and the old tower building at Don Scott. Suggestions for other meeting sites are encouraged.

Announcements:

• We were reminded that this year’s International Conference, hosted by the North Central 99s, will be held from Wednesday through Sunday on July 22 - 26 in Chicago.

• Dawn Valasco is striding closer to her solo flight.

• Meredith Fredericks’ flying schedule, the new "Wonder Woman."
