Up, Up, and Away
Kama Denney: Aircraft check out at Delaware airport, aerobatic training in Christen Eagle in San Jose, CA.
Terri Vrbancic: Flew in a 2nd aerobatic contest in Aurora, IL in a Pitts S2B. Flew right seat in a 1953 Twin Beech out of Packer Field.
Mary Biller: Flew to Urbana for lunch and to Ashland, KY. Sat in the Met Life Blimp!
Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order by Betty Obara, Chairman.
Attendance: Kama Denney, Janie McIntire, Terri Vrbancic, Myra Jamison, Betty Obara, Abby Rice, Kay Hoelting, Mary Biller, Paula Hook, Constance Copeland, Sandra Dearth, Wendy Yost, Paula Rumbaugh, Marilynn Miller, Marjorie Anderson.
Minutes:
The minutes were moved to be accepted as distributed by Janie McIntire, seconded by Myra Jamison, and accepted.
Treasurer’s Report:
The report was accepted as read by Janie McIntire. Moved to accept by Myra Jamison and seconded by Wendy Yost.
Old Business:
· Ground School Instructor: Betty volunteered to find texts for seven of us who are interested in becoming ground instructors
· Alice Jackson Scholarship: Janie has created flyers and posters to be distributed to various airports. The information will also be on our web-site. (Thanks to 49 ½ Ray Copeland for all the work he has done to get information on the web site!) Myra will assume chairman responsibilities for the scholarship committee in Janie’s absence.
· Janie has vests to take to Section Meeting. These will cost $45 each. She will bring any remaining ones to the next chapter meeting if any remain.
· Compass Rose Air Marking: Joanne Austin if offering her home for airmarking at Greene County Airport, OH. The dates are Oct. 11 & 12, rain date Oct. 25 & 26, 2003. All are encouraged to participate, enjoy the fun, and give back to the aviation community.
New Business:
· New Visitor: We welcome Kama Denney, CFI to our meeting! Kama has been “out of flying for a year, and recently got checked out again at Delaware and is ready to go again”. She showed us her new “credit card” –like license. Welcome, Kama!
· Kay Hoelting reported that by 2008, ICAO has passed a rule to ensure proficiency in English by pilots of all countries who are members of the ICAO.
· Terri encouraged us all to explore www.EAA.org to obtain information about the National Air Tour. This will include Trimotors, Stinsons, etc. They plan to land at Greene County Airport this month.
· Aerobatic Rally was held in Barber Field in Alliance OH on Sept. 20. Also check out the Cambridge Parade of Planes.
